7. Females in Season
Should Stay Home

Female dogs who have not been spayed are capable of producing puppies. A dog who is 'in season' must be confined so that male dogs in the neighborhood will not travel to your house.

 


 Sometimes females get pregnant if the owner is not careful. She may get pregnant whether or not you are interested in caring for puppies. If you are thinking about raising pups, please read 'Too Many Dogs' first!
